What MXGP 26 actually is
MXGP 26 is the official game of the 2026 MXGP season, made by Artefacts Studio and published by Nacon on October 1, 2026 for PC (Steam), PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It covers the full MXGP and MX2 calendar with 19 tracks, 16 bikes and the official riders, on a new engine whose headline feature is track deformation: ruts build lap after lap and change your lines.
It ships with five modes but no full career, launched on PC without remapping (fixed the same day, see the hotfix log) and sits at Mixed on Steam. This site covers the setup side: assists and settings, controls, fixes and all 26 achievements.
Assist ladder
Where to start, and what to switch off next
- Amateur New to MX games Plenty of help in the air Amateur AI
- Pro Played an MXGP before Some air help; try switching it off Pro AI, beatable from day one for most
- Hard Holding lines in deep ruts Air assists off, stand/sit on Hard AI, the floor for the six-title achievement
- Expert MX Bikes and sim riders Full free whips and scrubs Expert AI and the Hotshot no-assist race
Rungs are the four AI levels. Assist profiles also run Amateur to Expert but are set separately; the assist line is our suggestion for each rung. Full settings guide

Quick questions from the start gate
Does MXGP 26 have a career mode?
Not a full one. Nacon calls Championship a "career-lite" mode: you pick a season and race it, with no rider career, contracts or offers like MXGP 2020 or 2021. In the launch developer interview the lead producer said the team rebuilt the basics first and will focus on a good career mode in the next game.
Can you change controls in MXGP 26 on PC?
Yes, since the first PC hotfix on October 1, 2026 (6PM CEST). The launch build had no key or button remapping on Steam, which was the most common complaint in the first reviews.
How many tracks and bikes are in MXGP 26?
19 tracks from the 2026 MXGP and MX2 calendar and 16 bikes, according to Nacon's launch post. Offline races hold up to 20 riders in MXGP and 16 in MX2.
Who keeps this pit board
MXGP 26 Guide is an independent, unofficial fan resource for MXGP 26 players — not affiliated with Artefacts Studio.
- How we verify: Mode lists, patch notes and fixes come from Nacon developer posts on Steam; achievement rates are read from Steam global stats, and riding advice is only kept when several launch-week players report the same thing.
- Update cadence: The hotfix log and known-issues page are re-read after every PC update Nacon announces; achievement rates are refreshed weekly.
- What we don't do: No invented setup numbers or lap times. If nobody has published a value yet, the page says so instead of guessing.
