MXGP 26 Championship Mode Guide: The Career-Lite Season

MXGP 26 has no full career mode. Championship is what Nacon calls the “career-lite” mode: you race a season with standings that carry from round to round, and that is the long-term structure the game has. Here is how to get the most from it.

MXGP or MX2

  • MXGP races have up to 20 riders offline.
  • MX2 has 16, matching the 16 riders on the official 2026 MX2 grid.

MX2 bikes are the smaller class. Time Attack gold on an MX2 bike is its own achievement (2 Fast for You!), so it is worth learning both.

Your first season

  1. Keep the AI low for the first run. Welcome Aboard, Rookie! only needs you to finish a Championship, and First Crown! needs you to win one; together they were at about 1% on launch day mostly because few people had finished a season yet.
  2. Pick a shorter season if offered. Long seasons on all 19 tracks are for later.
  3. Race the full weekend. A GP weekend is more than a single race, and completing one unlocks Weekender.

The long achievements

  • Full House asks you to win, take the Fox Holeshot and set the Acerbis Best Lap at every GP in one Championship. Lower AI and good starts are the whole trick.
  • Around the World wants a race win on every track. A full-calendar Championship ticks most of them off.
  • Tony, Is That You? is six Official MXGP Championships in a row with a full entry list on Hard or higher. Do it last.
  • Jeffrey, Is That You? needs 114 GP wins, which you will only reach over many seasons.

The full list with unlock rates is on the achievements page.

Is a career coming?

Not in this game. In the launch developer interview the lead producer said the team will focus on a good career mode in the next iteration. Known Championship save problems are tracked on the known issues page. Until then, see game modes for what else there is to do between seasons.

Did this get you round the lap faster?
